Michigan State offensive coordinator Dan Roushar declined to pursue a job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to spartannation.com.
The story says new Bucs coach Greg Schiano had targeted Roushar to be his offensive line coach but determined after meeting with him that Roushar was unlikely to leave East Lansing. Thus, the job was not offered.
MSU head coach Mark Dantonio confirmed the Bucs' interest.
"We are blessed to have coaches, players and others that collectively are the reason we have had success at Michigan State," Dantonio told the site. "The fact that the NFL wanted to talk to Dan Roushar is proof of that. It strengthens even more the confidence I have in him and the great leadership he provides our team."
Roushar just finished his first season as MSU's offensive coordinator, after being promoted from line coach to fill the vacancy left by Don Treadwell.
