I am Detroit-bred and Farmington-raised. I was turned on to radio at WCBN-FM, The University of Michigan student-run station. To jive with my passion for music, I switched my major from pre-law to Communications. After graduating from the University of Michigan, I parlayed an internship at the original 93.1 WDRQ and became the Music Director.
And so began my odyssey of the Detroit radio dial! I worked at WJLB as the Promotions and Marketing Director, then on the air at Top-40 WCZY (predecessor to Channel 95.5), nights at 96.3 fm WHYT, afternoons at 93.1 WDRQ and finally to mid-days at 106.7 The Beat!!
It was at 96.3 where I was able to really spark my career and my passion...and give rise to others....

It was at 96.3 that I hosted "Open Mic Night" for unsung, unsigned rappers, like Eminem and Kid Rock. In addition, many of the now-world-famous house and techno DJ's played the beats for me, including, Kevin Saunderson of "Inner City" (Big Fun, Good Life), Richie Hawtin, Claude Young, Derrick May and Juan Atkins.
It was at this time that I enrolled in law school at the University of Detroit-Mercy Law School. I went to law school during the day, and rocked the mic at night on 96.3! I passed the bar exam the same year that 96.3 WHYT changed format.
From there it was on to 93.1 WDRQ to do afternoon drive....where I found a home for 9 years as well as some success as a nightclub DJ!
My next stop was at WOMC where I hosted the "Saturday Night Dance Party.
NOW, I am at my favorite radio station (I'm serious!!) 106.7 The Beat of Detroit, where you can find me Monday through Fridays from 10 am until 2pm!!

Some guys' mothers would be thrilled to have them hook up with Jennifer Lopez, but not Bradley Cooper's!
According to the National Enquirer, the actor's mom thinks J-Lo is bad news, and a carbon copy of Bradley's ex, Jennifer Esposito, who divorced him after less than a year back in 2007.
A source tells the tabloid, "Gloria doesn't think J.Lo is good for her son. She believes she's superficial and concerned more about money and material things. She wants Bradley to end the relationship now before he gets hurt."

Amy Winehouse Died From Alcohol Poisoning - Coroner Report
LONDON (AP) — Amy Winehouse died as the unintended consequence of drinking too much alcohol, a British coroner ruled Wednesday.
Coroner Suzanne Greenaway gave a verdict of "death by misadventure," saying the singer died of accidental alcohol poisoning. "The unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death," Greenaway said.
The singer, who had fought drug and alcohol problems for years, was found dead in bed at her London home on July 23 at age 27. An initial autopsy proved inconclusive, although it found no traces of illegal drugs in her system.
Pathologist Suhail Baithun told the inquest into the singer's death that Winehouse had consumed a "very large quantity of alcohol" — the level in her blood put her more than five times over the legal drunk-driving limit.
Police Detective Inspector Les Newman, who was called after a security guard found Winehouse, said empty vodka bottles were scattered around her bedroom.
Winehouse's doctor, Dr. Christina Romete, said the singer had resumed drinking in the days before her death after a period of abstinence.
Romete, who saw Winehouse the night before she died, said the singer was "tipsy but calm." She said Winehouse had not spoken of suicide, and talked about her upcoming birthday.
Romete said Winehouse had been prescribed drugs including the sedative Librium to help her cope with the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal, but the coroner said these had played no role in her death.
Winehouse family spokesman Chris Goodman said it was a relief to the family "to finally find out what happened to Amy."
"The court heard that Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time," he said.
