My Favorite EVH Performance Was Not With Van Halen But Was With Sammy Hagar

David Lee Roth decided he'd had enough of the Van Halen brothers and decided to venture out on his own in 1985. Eddie, with some time on his hands, decided to join Sammy Hagar on stage at the annual Farm Aid concert.

I remember watching this on MTV at work on a Saturday night and was awestruck by their performance of Led Zeppelin's Rock And Roll. Sammy was also in awe as he just shakes his head and laughs as Eddie shreds the solo better than Jimmy Page ever did.

Maybe they knew, maybe not, that this performance would give birth to the NEW Van Halen.

Rest in Peace, Eddie.
